Windows 10: Windows file system error -2147163901 : I get this message when I try to launch certain...

Windows file system error -2147163901: cannot launch certain windows apps like Spotify and NVidia control panel and notepad. repair and reset do not help, and I tried to uninstall notepad and reinstall it, and it just won't. windows pop up says it's a problem on their end. Ran sfc scan now in cmd and says it found corrupt files but could not fix them and to reference the log. this all happened in the middle of having windows update issues due to corrupt RAM, which has now been removed from my PC. windows is now up to date

Error message "File system error (-2147163901)" in Pictures

I cannot open individual items in "Pictures" with error message "File system error (-2147163901)" . Photos will not open at all though it is installed and has been reset. I am using Windows 10 Home on a PC. Any suggestions?

Hello,

since a few days now my PC gives me the error message "File System Error -2147163901" for a variety of apps (both Microsoft and non Microsoft, e.g. Photos, Skype, Spotify). I searched this forum and tried a number of recommended action steps to no avail, including:

- repairing / resetting the apps in question

- downloading and installing the latest windows updates

- Powershell: Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)AppXManifest.xml”}

- running the windows troubleshooter

Would really appreciate any ideas to fix this issue as it becomes increasingly annoying.
