Windows 10: Windows Foundation Driver High Cpu - Cannot Disable

Hi,I have a Dell XPS 9520 with a Dell Docking station.Every several minutes Windows Driver Foundation causes my cpu to use many resources and cause the CPU temp to rise.Each time i have to manually end the task. All the online tips show to go into services and choose to manually load the service however in Windows 11 the service does not exist in the services unless it has another nameAll the tips to run troubleshooters, update drivers have already been done and it did not solve the issue.Please recommend a different approachThanks!

Hi there, i have the same issue here. Since last Update the Windows Driver Foundation Task has a high CPU usage and my Surface Book lags like **** I've done a Trace like requested. How can i send it to you guys? Best

 

High CPU Usage by Windows Driver Foundation

Yesterday after updating my PC I noticed that Windows Driver Foundation was taking a large percentage of my CPU up. After searching the internet I found a fix which worked. By reinstalling my WLAN driver, Windows Driver Foundation disappeared. However,
today it has appeared again. Taking up a large percentage CPU again ad making y laptop fairly sluggish. How can I fix this?

WUDFHost or Windows Driver Foundation is a set of libraries and tools which helps in reducing the complexity while writing Windows drivers. It pushes the drivers to user mode. This service is necessary for the overall stability
of the system.

You've mentioned that all your apps and programs have been updated, is Windows included in them? How about your drivers, especially your WiFi driver?

Have you ran the System Maintenance Troubleshooter? Running this troubleshooter will find and clean up unused files and shortcuts, and perform maintenance tasks.

• Right-click the Start icon, then select Control Panel.
  
• Choose the Large icons option from the View by drop down list found on the upper-right part of the Control Panel window.
  
• Locate then select Troubleshooting.
  
• Click View all from the left pane.
  
• Locate and click System Maintenance to run the troubleshooter then follow the next steps.
  

You may also perform a Clean Boot to make sure that no application is causing the high CPU usage.

Clean Boot helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when running or installing a program in Windows 10.
