Windows 10: Window's freezing and goes black temporarily

Hello, I am experience an issue with windows 11 pro on my Lenovo Thinkpad. Whenever I try to access my C Drive or This PC window's freezes and then screen goes black for a second. I'm trying to avoid wiping the machine because I have a few projects that I can't back up without gaining access to the C Drive unfortunately. I also have a software version on that is no longer available so I do not want to lose that either. ThanksDrew
