Windows 10: Windows freezing problem

Hi all,

I use Windows 10 home and since a couple of weeks I have a frequent freezing problem. At least a few times a week when I try to surf to a new random website, Chrome and also Edge stops loading the webpage and hangs. After restarting both browsers the problem remains and new websites don’t open. I can still use other programs or watch a movie for example, but in order to use the internet again I have to reboot my PC. But the strange thing is, and that's why I think it's a Windows problem and not a browser or internet problem, that when this problem occurs the restart screen of Windows keeps loading and hangs as well. In order to reboot I have to use the power button. I tried everything I know and that I could find on the internet, from looking at my virtual memory to reinstalling Chrome and Edge and updating drivers. I also have another PC with Windows 10 home on it, and this one had the same problem last week…..but on this one it only occurred once. Since the problem started after the new recent Windows update, I think that maybe the problem is because of this? I hope someone here maybe knows the solution…..

Windows Vista Wont Install Freezes?

had the same problem, freezes and long installation including each step loading, in my case a bios update helped.

 

all games crash!

ive watch my temps and both the cpu and gpu are within normal ranges. when it freezes it simply freezes the image and stops the sound. i must reboot to get back to windows.

That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.
