Windows 10: Windows Functions Not Opening

Hello,On a new computer. None of the Windows functions are opening. For Example Search Bar, Calendar, Settings Windows logo. I have tried ending in task manager and restarting but nothing has worked.

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

Search function always opens Edge, which seems agressive behaviour.

Have you tried edge deflector? 1 First, download Edge Deflector from this link. 2 Open the file (.exe) and go through the short install process.

3 The program will open something looking a bit like the above image in Microsoft edge. You don't need to read it, just follow these steps:

1. Press *Start + I to open settings
2. Choose 'Apps', then 'Default Apps'
3. Then, at the bottom of this page (scroll) find 'Choose default applications by protocol'
   
   
4. When this loads, Locate MICROSOFT-EDGE in the list and click on the program icon to the right of it.
5. Select EdgeDeflector from the list. Confirm the change if asked to.
6. Then, whenever you search something in the taskbar it should open in your default browser
