Windows 10: Windows goes black when using Screen Snip

HelloWhen using Screen snip it takes perfect screenshot but when I try use some tool eg- using brush or any other tool in it screen becomes black for 2-3 second and then same and cycle goes on till i am using screen snip

Snipping Tool inoperable as screen goes black

I have used Snipping Tool for years but now I find that the screen goes black as soon as I activate "New" and I cannot see the area I want to save. As I use this many times in the day it is a big challenge for me - appreciate some help. Thanks
