    Windows - got logged out, now pin/fingerprint option disappeared and code not sending by email


    Not sure exactly what happened - I had an update , delayed restarting but got logged out anyway.The option to use my pin or fingerprint to login disappeared and only the code by email option remained.The problem is - I'm not getting the code to my email I've check my junk.This is despite trying at 8 separate times across 4 days with restarts etc.I tried booting up in safe mode and restoring to before the update, but this failed and now it's even buggier - asks if I want to search the store to install an app to login which doesn't work if i click yes.If I click no, I'm back to requesting a

    Hello,

    I am experiencing issues accessing my Windows account due to problems with the PIN and fingerprint login. Here are the steps I followed and the issues encountered:

    1. I entered an incorrect PIN several times.
    2. I decided to change the PIN. I successfully logged into my account. and attempted to change the PIN, but an error occurred during the process.
    3. Now, I am unable to log in using the PIN, and it is blocked for 2 hours.
    4. I am offered the option to use fingerprint authentication, but it does not work.
    5. I am not given the option to log in using my password or account credentials, even though I logged in with them when attempting to change the PIN.
    How can I regain access to Windows?

    1. The PIN frequently malfunctions, especially after the PC wakes from sleep mode. It often says that the PIN does not exist or something similar.
    2. After a restart, I was able to log in using my fingerprint.
    3. When I check the login options:
      • Fingerprint authentication is available.
      • The PIN option is currently unavailable (I created a new account, and the PIN option is available and works there).
    4. I do not see any option to log in using a password.
    How can I resolve these issues and regain consistent access to my accounts using both PIN and password?

    I previously changed my email address, leaving the old one as an alias. I have now removed the old alias to keep things organized.

    1. When I try to access my account using the old email, it correctly states that the account does not exist.
    2. When I log in with the new email, everything works fine initially. However, when I am prompted to use the PIN, an error occurs again (it seems like it might still be trying to use the old account).
    It appears that the Microsoft login system struggles to handle these changes and only works under ideal conditions. How can I resolve these issues and ensure smooth access to my account using the new email and PIN?

    I forgot my PIN - dialog disappears before code arrives to phone

    Hi, I did set up a new laptop with Windows 11 Pro. PIN was set up, and I tested it works after writing to the paper.

    Now I tried to log in with PIN, but it is wrong. Then I tried to "I forgot my PIN" - function and typed my Microsoft password. After that, I receive the email option as the primary and alternative method is the phone. I tried both of them and received a code to email and phone. However, the dialog, where a code should be typed, disappears before I can type the code. Usually, a code doesn't even arrive before the dialog disappears. The dialog also disappears if I'm too slow to type the Microsoft account password. Fingerprint works. I tried to keep the dialog "active" by writing and erasing any letters while waiting for the actual code, but the dialog disappears anyway.

    I have set up my primary account and also my company account. Both of them are visible on the accounts screen. One another strange thing is that Teams asks to sign in to my company account after every Log-in. Teams is in use for my primary MS account and works. Something strange there too. I'm not sure, but I think the company account came to the Windows accounts list by installing Office 365 and logging in with my company account for Office. I didn't create a company account specifically for Windows.
