Windows 10: Windows hangs and restarts when I open full screen apps

Hello everybody!


I've been using windows 10 since 2016 on the same machine i have today.


Motherboard (Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 rev3.0)
Processor AMD FX8350
16 gb Kingston RAM

Now on November 2019 i upgraded my GPU AMD HD7870 (born before Windows 10) to a brand new AMD RX590 and my nightmare started.


Everytime an application uses EXCLUSIVE FULLSCREEN my windows hangs and restart. It happens even when changing desktop resolution.


I contacted AMD for support and their conclusion was (after several tests, making me purchase a new power source unity and clean reinstalations of windows and drivers) that my motherboard was not compatible with WINDOWS 10 and treated the problem as solved. But ladies and gentleman: I've been using the SAME machine with WINDOWS 10 for almost 4 years and i've never seen a BSOD. NEVER.


To complete the sad story: They recommend me to use WINDOWS 7 and i did it - All the problems really desappeared.


But i don't have a windows 7 key and it is pointless to get one since it's a system with death sentence and all the new MS games to come are WIN10 only.


There is something i can do?

Have Start screen open with “All Apps” list already opened?

Version 1607 Build 14393.105 does that, click Start and the full Apps list is scrollable.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

Is there a way to configure Windows 10 to have the start screen open and have the “All Apps” list already open?

The way it is now, pressing the Windows key opens the start screen with the “All Apps” icon and the “Sleep/Shut down/Restart” icon showing. I have to click the “All Apps” icon to open the list.
