Windows 10: Windows Hardware Change - Deactivated Windows 10 and MS Office Late 2022

Hello,My motherboard recently died during a bios update and I had to buy a new one.After replacing the motherboard, Windows and MS Office were no longer authenticated. I followed the trouble shooting guidelines online and found that depending on the attempt I was told to try again later or that my machine could not be found linked to my account.When I log into MS, my PC is there which the correct system name and specifications.I would like to activate both Windows and Office using my license key however they are not being accepted.I tried calling support but this redirected me to the website

It would be nice if MS implemented Office 365 style of activation on Windows where you are in total control of what's activated on what.

Yep, and usually when you call MS support, you don't even have to speak to a person. You'll get a series of numbers/letters, that you can speak/type into your phone, then it will read back a different set, this will be entered in where directed (there's a window that will contain all of this information), and then you'll activate that way and be done.

I had to do this for MS Office and Windows activations. It is actually pretty painless, just takes 10-20 minutes. Depending on how you activated Windows 10, if you used a 7 or 8 key, try that again and download the newest ISO 1511 (should be the only download available through the Media Creator now). This was said to accept legit 7 and 8/8.1 activation keys. I haven't tested that myself yet though.

You'll be fine, as-long-as your Windows 10 was not OEM. If it is OEM, then you'll need to purchase a consumer copy that allows for license transferring iirc. *Toast :toast:
