  1. "Windows has created a temporary pagefile" 0mb pagefile size in system properties but 16...

Every time I launch my computer this popup comes up and I'm taken to virtual memory in system properties, it says I have 0mb in page file size, I have tried everything I can find online, I tried clean boot which did nothing, resetting which is blocked by an error, deleting the page file through file explorer immediately replaces itself and is 16gigs, manipulating the allocated page file size which doesn't seem to help at all, deleting the pagefile through digit which doesn't seem to do anything, and everything is reset when I restart the computer. This problem started yesterday when I tr

  2. Clear Pagefile on Shutdown

I've been looking into clearing the pagefile, and I found the following steps at a somewhat dated webpage:
    1. In the registry editor, navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management
    2. Set ClearPageFileAtShutdown to the REG_DWORD value of 1.
    3. Restart Windows.
I'm just wondering whether those steps are still valid, and, if so, does clearing the pagefile work as advertised?

    Moving the pagefile

    Hi John.

If you are simply wanting to gain space from another partition I would suggest using a free third party partition management tool. The tools built into windows are fairly limited.

Using a good third party tool would be easier and possibly safer.

A screen shot of the disk management window may give a better understanding of the issue.

As far as easy Step by step for moving the pagefile.

click Start type advanced System Settings and select view advanced system settings

in the system properties window on the advanced tab,

in the performance section click the Settings button

in the Performance Options Window select the Advanced tab

under Virtual Memory click the Change button

[note : do not completely remove all paging files if there is no paging file at all the system may have problems booting]

    untick "automatically manage paging files..."

select the drive that currently has no paging file

either set a custom size or select system managed size

    click Set

then select the drive with the existing paging file from the list at the top,

select "no Paging File" and click Set

    click Ok

The computer will need to be restarted for the changes to take affect.

    Huge pagefile

You can't just delete the page file, you would go to system/advanced system properties/performance settings/ advanced tab Virtual Memory there you can uncheck the "Automatically manage Page file size" then you can set the size you want, maybe the 1 GB as suggested by using Max 1gb min 1gb or select no page file at all. As stated earler you don't really need a page file with a SSD.
