Windows 10: Windows has locked me out of Lenovo Laptop. Demands PIN. Never used. No option to reset

Windows has locked me out of Lenovo laptop. Demands PIN when use Password and phone link previously. Never used PIN and no way of creating pin. Phoned Microsoft help and redirected. This is very stressful

May I ask if you forgot you PIN that you use to log into your laptop?

If you'd like to reset the laptop, follow the instructions below:

1. Access the Recovery Environment:
   
   • Start your laptop and as soon as it begins to power up, repeatedly press the F11 key (this key might vary depending on the manufacturer; consult your laptop's manual if F11 does not work). This should bring you to the Windows Recovery Environment.
     
2. Navigate to Troubleshoot Options:
   
   • In the Windows Recovery Environment, select "Troubleshoot" from the options provided.
     
3. Reset Your PC:
   
   • Under the "Troubleshoot" menu, you will find an option to "Reset this PC". Select this option.
     
4. Choose to Remove Everything:
   
   • You will be given two options: "Keep my files" and "Remove everything". Since you are locked out, select "Remove everything". This will remove all personal files, apps, and settings.
     
5. Confirm the Reset:
   
   • Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm your choice and start the reset process. The laptop will restart and begin the resetting process, which can take some time.
     
6. Set Up Your Laptop:
   
   • Once the reset is complete, you will need to set up Windows again as if it were a new device. Follow the on-screen instructions to configure your settings.

W11 - WHFB PIN Reset option on lock screen not working

We are working on the W11 configuration in order to deliver the first W11 computer to our users.

When doing my testing, I have encountered an issue with the WHFB PIN reset option from lock screen.



On my W10 laptop, without having a log in, I can reset my WHFB PIN from lock screen with the "I forget my pin ..." option --> When I click on the option, it asks for my password - Then for mfa check and then I can define a new PIN.



On my W11 laptop, without having a log in, I can not reset my WHFB PIN from lock screen with the "I forget my pin ..." option --> When I click on the option, nothing happen !



Important point: if I log in with my password, I can reset my PIN without any issue from Account --> Connection Option : it works on W10 and W11.



Is there something specific to activate on W11 for that functionnality to work on the lockscreen ?



Environnement : W11 & WHFB Cloud Trust configure with GPO (including the PIN Reset functionnality)

Dear MS Team, I have a few users including me who has the issue where our laptop fingerprint and face lD lock, PIN lock. Keeps on resetting. It ask to reset it every time after restart. We have no company policy, no external software in action. I have already performed a few steps from MS site. but it did not work. Please advise. Regards, Jay
