    Windows hasn't been able to recevie updates for months, how can I fix this?


    As said in the title, I have had an issues where my "WindowsUpdate" area on my PC will not load anything and will sometimes just say "Something went wrong. Try to reopen Settings later" . I have tried to use the cmd to verify my files on my computer, I have used external tools that are meant to unlock this and solve this issue and I have tried changing settings deeper in the computer by following tutorials online that claimed to have the same issue. I also tried to re-install windows on the drive and that was no use as I still had the issue. Not being able to update my windows has caused other

    FIXED!! Windows 7 sp1 never ends searching for updates

    Yeah, I've been noting it for months on the refusenik thread. They do NOT want anything older than 10 running.

    I still have an HTPC on W7, and every other month I have to fix the update agent in order to get all updates. SMH....

    You provided a good step by step fix. I've bookmarked it for future reference.

    Windows updates won't install!

    I had the same problem when i repaired my O/S, i forgot the steps on how to fixed it, but it is in the microsoft support forum.

    You have to reinstall the windows updater, then restart the updating service.
