    Windows Hello Camera permission


    Windows 11 - user has Windows Hello facial setup - works with laptop built-in camera. User connects to work monitor with built-in camera. this camera does not get recognized as an option for Windows Hello for this users machine. If I connect my laptop to their monitor it works perfectly. So its not the camera. It is like the camera does not have permission to be used for WHfB. The same user machine works with the camera for Zoom and Teams. Just not WHfBAgain - if I plug in my machine to their monitor it does work for facial. Is there a way to control permission for WHfB under privacy for the c

    If you have the camera connected to the computer, I would suggest that you disconnect the camera and then try to open the Camera app.



    If the camera app opens, follow the steps below:

    • Press “Windows key + C” from your keyboard to open “Charms bar”.
    • Select “Settings” option.
    • Select “Permissions” option.
    • Turn on “Allow this app to access your: Webcam and Microphone” option.
    • Lose the app by pressing “Alt key + F4” from your keyboard.
    • Reopen the Camera app.
    • Connect your camera and then check how this app works.

    We couldn't find a fingerprint scanner/camera Windows Hello

    Hello,
    I'm experiencing some issues while trying to enable the Windows Hello login via camera and fingerprint.
    Basically I have this Windows 10 21H2 joined to a domain, and using administrative creds I've enabled the registry keys to enable Windows Hello and PIN login.

    Unfortunately I'm not able to use the Hello camera or fingerprint despite the device is Windows Hello compatible (HP Elitebook G8).
    I've tried all the suggestion reported on the tutorials but still no luck, I have the error:

    We couldn't find a fingerprint scanner compatible with windows hello fingerprint

    On both camera and fingerprint. Both devices are recognized properly via devmgmt.
    Do you have any suggestion?
