    Windows Hello can't open camera


    After the most recent update a few days ago, Windows Hello no longer works. The webcam itself works I can see the preview, and I have verified that the settings and permissions are correct. However, Windows Hello is no longer a sign-in choice and when I go to "improve recognition" I get the message: "Windows can't open the camera." The "get help" link doesn't work and the suggestion on Microsoft's own website to reinstall the Get Help app from the Microsoft store is nonsense--there's no such app on the store first result was an app that would help me create invoices!.I searched in com

    Camera is not opening

    Windows Hello can't open camera

    Windows Hello Face Setup Could Not Open the Camera

    I resolved my problem by updating the drivers for my camera. The steps I took were:

    • elect the Start button, typeDevice Manager,
    • When the list of results popped up I expanded the Imaging devices option, which showed the camera on my computer.
    • Right clicked on and selected update Driver.
    • Select Search automatically for updated driver software.

    I restarted my computer. Windows Hello started and accessed the camera. I hope this helps.
