Windows 10: Windows Hello Fingerprint & Facial recognition on Windows 11 Pro on HP ProBook

Since the last update on or around 03/14/25 my fingerprint option has quit working. When I go to Windows Hello, it indicates there is not a Fingerprint device available. When I go to the Fingerprint device, it says it is working and up to date. How can I fix this??

Windows hello facial recognition not available on HP envy notebook

Hello-

I recently needed to reinstall windows 10 on my HP envy notebook. Facial recognition through Windows Hello worked before the reinstall; now my settings say "Face and fingerprint recognition not available on this device". How can I get facial recognition
working again? Thanks!

 

Deleting Windows Hello Facial Recognition and Windows Hello Fingerprint

I want to delete both facial recognition and fingerprint in windows hello and just keep pin. How is this done?

Sounds like a driver issue with the camera: MS requires special IR (infrared) capabilities from cameras for Windows Hello facial recognition to work. You should visit the HP support pages, and make sure you've got the right driver installed for facial recognition.
