Windows Hello will not recognize my HP Wide Vision FHD camera when using facial recognition to sign in. Camera works perfectly with Zoom etc. It worked fine using Windows 10. When I was forced to update to Windows 11, the facial recognition stopped working.

I have an HP Omen laptop with Windows 11. When I try to activate Windows Hello facial recognition it tells me I don't have a compatible camera. The laptop has a HP Wide vision HD camera. Why is this not compatible?

Sounds like a driver issue with the camera: MS requires special IR (infrared) capabilities from cameras for Windows Hello facial recognition to work. You should visit the HP support pages, and make sure you've got the right driver installed for facial recognition.

Windows 10 Hello Facial Recognition is more secure than most of the facial recognition technologies used on devices these days and it requires a webcam with Infrared capability

I checked the specifications of your 2-in-1 laptop and it has a HP Wide Vision 720p HD camera and that does not have InfraRed capability, so you will not be able to use Hello Facial Recognition on that deice.
