Windows 10: Windows Home faisl to create specific user's directory and files for a new user I created...

Hi,


I have Window home and aw local user with administrative rights.


When creating a new user, no file for that new user appear in c:\users, even though this new user appears in the "users" subdirectory of the "Control Panel" . When this new user clicks on "Change my environment variables", all what he sees is the directory and path of the first person who eventually started the computer for the first time. The files and configurations of this new user seem actually located and mixed in the user's directory of this first user.

Thus, Windows did not create a new subdirectory for this new user. The computer was restarted hping that this would force Windows to create the new user's directory in c;\:users but it did not...


Is this a normal behavior of Windows Home or do I need to correct something ?


Please, note that I have checked that all hidden files are visible so, my problem is NOT due to the fact that the files I'm looking for are simply hidden.


Any suggestion ?

Unable to create new User account

  Are you logged in with a Microsoft account or Local account?

  Are you trying to create new user account using Administrator account?
  

I suggest you to run SFC scan.

new user created after installing the Windows 10 anniversary update

A new user timot in addition to the user Tim was created after installing the Windows 10 anniversary update on my HP Mini.

A second Documents Download Music and Photo directories also shows up. I can delete these directories.

However one app ACLog used the new timot user.

I uninstalled ACLog deleted the data files in the second Documents directory and deleted this directory.

When I reinstalled ACLog it recreated data files and recreates the second Documents directory and the program states it creates files in the timot documents directory.

When I tried to remove the timot user it does not show in the family user list.

I also have a default user and a defalt.migrated use.

How do I remove the user timot and stop apps creating files there.

During the install of the Windows 10 anniversary update the install was interrupted and the previous version was re-installed then I installed the Windows 10 anniversary update which is where the problem started.

 

New Account/User Issues

When you create a new user account, Windows uses the Default user profile as a template to construct the files for the newly created user account. You might be experiencing issues creating new accounts due to a corrupt Default profile. To
resolve the issue, we suggest reinstating the Default folder in the
Users directory by following these steps:

• Log in as an administrator.
• Open the C:\Users folder using Windows Explorer.
• Rename the Default user profile folder to Default.OLD.
• Download a zip of C:\Users\Default from a Windows 10 installation that doesn't have this problem.
  
• Unzip the non-corrupt Default profile into C:\Users.
• Try logging in to the new user account and check if the problem is resolved.
