Windows Hypervisor Platform and Virtual Machine Platform

I have "ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DT” with “AMD Ryzen 5 3550H” with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx, 2100 Mhz, 4 Cores, 8 Logical Processors and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 running on “Windows 10 Home 2004

I wanted to run AVD in Android Studio for that:

I enabledSVM” in BIOS BIOS Version/Date: “American Megatrends Inc. FX505DT.310, 12/24/2019

and I also enabled Virtual Machine Platform” and “Windows Hypervisor Platform” from “Turn Windows features on or off”

But whenever I do this my laptop freezes on boot and it is just the black screen.

When I disable SVM in BIOS, only then it will boot normally.

This did not work even on previous versions of Windows that I had.

    :)

  2. [Windows Features] Virtual Machine Platform

In what case would I need to install the Virtual Machine Platform (found in - Turn Windows features on or off)? What is it good for?

  3. Virtual Machine Platform in Windows 10 update 1809

    Good Morning All,

Like many of you I am confused by Ganesh's explanation as it doesn't really tell me when I need to

    enable or disable

    1. Hyper-V

    2. Windows Hypervisor Platform

    3. Virtual Machine Platform

As commercial developers and system integrators we work with Windows, MacOS and Linux, as well

as Hyper-V, VMWare and VirtualBox. It's really important to understand what the Windows 10 settings do. It's now about 5 months after the original post.

Is there any additional information which can help to sort this out?

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks,

    Mike
