  1. Windows import not assigning proper dates and times of photos/videos

Hello, everyone. When I import photos from iphone 6 to win 10 PC, the photo dates and times are incorrectly assigned after import. When I import photos using windows photo viewer classic, the date created of a photo from iphone is copied to the date modified after import, but for some photos/videos the date modified is completely thrown off as in the screenshot above. Can anyone reproduce the same issue and verify if this is a problem with importing with windows photo viewer ?Thanks

    :)

Windows 10 Photo app random dates assigned to photos

I had a large library of photos over about 10 years, taken on several cameras/phones. Each folder was assigned the date of import as the folder name. This worked well for finding photos.

When I open these photos in Windows 10 Photos, some of them show on the proper date. Others, however, get place in folders with dates ranging from January 1980 to December 2050.

There doesn't seem to be a way to change the dates or folder name in this app.

  3. Photo app properly sorts photos by date taken, but all videos appear as taken today (imported today)

I have an issue with videos not sorting chronologically as to date taken in Windows 11 Photo App. Photos all sort properly by date taken.

Today I exported some old videos and photos from Apple's Photo Library app onto a flash drive and then imported into Windows app, using the "import" function.

The "sort by" is date taken. All the photos appear in their proper places (years/dates). But the videos all appear (sort) as though they were taken today.

Property/details on the videos all show the proper dates taken (years ago).

In File Explorer, they all show the proper dates and if you sort everything in the "Pictures" folder by date, they appear in the proper order.

It's when the pictures and photos display in the Photo App is when videos appear all taken today instead of sorted in with the pictures.

All pictures and videos were taken on iphones.

Can anyone please offer some assistance? (I've found this scenario on other messages but seems there's either no answers posted, or the answer only provides rudimentary assistance.)

    Thank you in advance.

  4. Windows import not assigning proper dates and times of photos/videos

How to file imported photos in separate folders, in date order, automatically, on Windows 11? NOT HAPPY Import Photos and Videos is GONE!!

When my home computer was on Windows 8, I was able to use a program called Import Photos and Videos. This enabled me to load and file in date order, photos, and file them into folders which I could name, before import of the photos onto the computer. Since I converted to a new computer using Windows 11, Import Photos and Videos is no longer in use!! So I can load photos from a memory card, but the computer will no longer file them in date order, nor allow me to name the files before importation. It is very frustrating that Microsoft have taken away Import Photos and Videos!! Because now, after importation, I have to manually select photos to be filed, file photos via File Explorer, and manually move them into separate folders, and put them into date order, manually! I wish Microsoft did not take away Import Photos and Videos program. This is a step backwards for Windows 11!! From Patrick Lee, United Kingdom, 30 October 2023.
