  1. Windows imposing a cap on data transfer ?

it had been two weeks where out of the blue my system starting to show caps here and there to all sort of data transfers , for instance internal ssd to shdd is showing a data cap of 80 MB/s , ssd to external usb 3 hdds has a data cap of 40 MB/s , external usb 3 hdd to external usb 3 hdd has a cap of 20 MB/s

How i know this is a data cap ? because i have several internal and external drives to test with and also it is super stable , the copy progress bar visualization never go up and down indicating its just set there on purpose , earlier to those two weeks i had my rates 90~100 MB/s on ssd to shdd and 60~70 MB/s ssd to external usb 3 hdds and external 60~70MB/s usb 3 hdd to external usb 3 hdd

System resources monitor show no abnormal data usage during file transfer from any other process , just system with few kbs usage every now and then

all drivers were up to date and not changed before nor after those 2 weeks , i even re-installed them to make sure and tested to install newer said to be moded drivers for both usb 3 and sata controller but even on newer drivers the cap existed

so how exactly to remove that cap ?

P.S please do not recommend i use robocopy because despite all its disadvantages it still shows same cap in resource monitor and this isnt really my requirement but rather to figure if microsoft has changed something and how to revoke it

    :)

  2. Data transfer

How can I transfer data (no programs or windows just setups and games)from one HDD to another please tell me all the steps, I have heard that in 2 sata if there is a window installed in both of them it could cause a problem. So, here is what I'm going to do so correct me if I'm wrong. both of them Are SATA WD

1 using XP CD going to delete the C partition in old HDD
    2 taking the HDD out
4 partition the new HDD in new PC by using XP CD
    5 install Win 7
6 connect the old HDD with SATA data and power cable
7 check if it is detected in bios
8 disk management initialize disk(i don't know if this is necessary)
    9 copy paste

  3. Data transfer

I have purchased a data transfer cable thinking I would be able to transfer (a lot) of photographs from my Windows 10 PC to my laptop. However I cannot do this and have searched the internet and even contacted microsoft customer service who were no help
at all (suggesting that I did it with a memory stick) I know that the Data Transfer is no longer available. All suggestions seem to be to transfer data TO windows 10. Can anybody help please?

    Data transfer

Dont know what you mean by setup and games. Data can just drag and drop. Or copy and paste. Programs and games installed will have to be reinstalled. At least most do.

forget everything you heard. If you have data (pics and music) on a drive with a windows install you can jsut plug it in as a second drive and transfer the data
