    Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2010 Installation Error

    Hello,

    When I try to install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2010 I get the following error (see below). I have Windows 10 and I've checked that I have all the updates. Any help would be appreciated!

    OS Version = 6.2.9200, Platform 2

    OS Description = Future OS - x64

    CommandLine = c:\04589b229cd86bbee194c64aa1\Setup.exe

    TimeZone = Eastern Standard Time

    Initial LCID = 1033

    Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable x64 wont install

    I was told by a Microsoft employee that you can't install Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable x64 on windows 10. Is this true? (Someone please help)

    Hi,

    Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

    When the latest version of Microsoft Visual C++ is already installed, the installer will detect it and block the installation for the lower version sometimes.

    Method 1: Uninstall the higher version and install the lower version first.

    1. Uninstall any Microsoft Visual C++ higher then 2010, to do that.
    2. Press Windows + R
      key on your keyboard together.
    3. Type in appwiz.cpl and hit enter.
    4. Search for all the higher version of Microsoft Visual C++ and right click and
      uninstall it.
    5. Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 first and then install the other higher version in ascending order.

    If you still face the issue, reply to this post with more information.
