    God I hate Win10. I hate it even more than Vista. Apart from the god awful interface I have 1 issue that has been bugging me for years now and I just cannot fix it: The Windows Installer will start up and sit there doing sweet fuck all forever. If I kill it, it restarts after a short time. Same if I restart, or perform corrective actions.

    This is bullshit, Win8.1 on the same system never ever had this problem.

    msiexec version is 5.0.18362.1

    The only marginally helpful article I can find for this very common problem is to run these DOS admin commands:

    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    sfc /scannow

    bitsadmin /reset always reports '0 of 0 jobs cancelled'.

    But like the other not-actual-solutions, this only works for a short period then it's back to the same old problem. I wouldn't mind except every single time I try to install a software update for anything (an almost daily requirement), it fails due to Windows Installer already (not) doing something.

    No idea why - There appear to be no pending Windows updates, nothing has happened that requires a restart to continue an install - I just boot up the PC, Windows Installer starts up and sits there doing absolutely nothing except shit all over my patience.

    Windows 10 can go fuck itself with a rusty chainsaw. Please, for the love of God, can anyone suggest a fix for this that actually works?

    windows xp installation and dual core am

    could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

    Insurgency wont install and run for me....

    I have played and have fully updated CS and Half life 2....
    I am using the newest client and installed the SDK.

    I am completely blown away, if i click the desktop icon it starts the sdk and then closes, and it doesn't show up in my game list...

    First mod attempt install here, followed the directions step by step on the mods website...

    Any ideas?

    The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

    Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.
