    Hi,

Maybe some of your system files became corrupted due to some instances, causing multiple issues in your PC. To address your issue, we recommend doing these initial possible troubleshooting methods:

Method 1: Run System File Checker

System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files. To do so, follow these steps:

    • Right-click the Start Menu and select Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Run this command: SFC /scannow
    • This may take several minutes to finish. If Command Prompt shows Verification 100% complete, close the command prompt and check if your issue has been fixed.

    Method 2: Run DISM

The DISM may help you to fix some Windows corruption errors. To do so, follow these steps:

    • Right-click the Start Menu and select Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Run this command: DISM.EXE /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
If the operation is completed successfully, close the command prompt and check if your issue has been fixed.

Let us know how things go.

    Regards.

  3. ACT Pro 2013 will not open in Windows 10

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

The most likely causes on a standalone are a damaged or invalid .pad file or SQL is not running, or is damaged.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if the issue persists.

      • Click your Windows Start button, choose Run and type in actdiag.

      • When ACT! Diagnostics comes up, click Databases, the Database List.

      • Locate your database in the list, right-click on it and select Detach. Make sure you know the filepath to your database before detaching it.

      • When the database has been detached, open My Computer (or Windows Explorer) and browse to the location of your database.

      • Locate the .PAD file for your database [database name].pad and delete it.

      • Reopen ACT!...you will get a message that the last database opened cannot found, then will be taken to the Open Database dialog box.

      • At the bottom of this box, change the Files of Type to .adf, browse to the location of your database and double-click on the .adf file for your database.

      • You will get a message that ACT! will verify your database, click OK and ACT will reattach your database to SQL and create a new .pad file.

      • Hope this helps.

    Windows acting wierd

If you're encountering Internet connection issues with your browsers, try doing these steps:

    • Press Windows + R to open Run.
    • Type inetcpl.cpl and press Enter to open Internet Options.
    • Under the Connections tab, click LAN settings.
    • Uncheck Use a proxy server for your LAN and click OK.
    • Check if you can now connect to the Internet using built-in Windows applications.
    • If you still can't connect to the Internet, go back to the LAN settings and uncheck Automatically detect settings.
    • Check again if you could connect to the Internet using built-in Windows apps. You should be able to connect to the Internet now.

Regarding your issue with the admin access, may we know the error message that you are receiving when trying to run an application as an administrator? If your PC only has one account, that account should be an administrator.

We'll be looking forward for your reply.
