Windows 10: Windows is detecting my inbuilt microphone but apps aren't.

Today apps won't pick it up anymore. Chrome doesn't recognize it and zoom doesn't either (haven't checked other apps). It did yesterday. I have verified that the microphone is still working via the control panel and settings but apps just don´t recognize it. My inbuilt microphone is set as the default, I have fully updated drivers (also checked with control panel). I have ran the windows troubleshooter but that obviously didn't work. I also have restarted windows audio service. The microphone from my earphones does work.

Icons from apps aren´t displayed correctly






The native apps from the system are all showing this strange square instead of the normal icons. Please help resolve this problem. Thanks

 

Microphone not detected

I've run it, it says the problem was 'Generic audio driver'. But I don't actually feel any problems on playing audios. My problem was about external microphones not detected, this laptop wont detect any external microphones
plugged in, it will always use the internal microphone. I've done the troubleshoot (recording audio) and the troubleshoot said they can't detect the problem.
