Windows 10: Windows is detecting sound but nothing's coming out from the speakers

Hi,

I've recently met a sound problem on my windows 10 computer. I could still hear sounds a few days ago but now, there's absolutely nothing, even when i try every single audio device my computer detects. I've tried unistalling then installing my sound device drivers again but it didn't work. I've checked my devices list but there doesn't seem to be any error in there.
Basically, my computer's still making sound, as i see the green sound gauge moving when playing a song, but can't hear anything, whether it be through the computer's internal speakers or using headphones/headsets. By the way, all my drivers are up to date.

Could someone help me please ?

Windows 10: No Sound coming out of earphones (only speakers work)

It's a laptop (dual booting Win10[recently upgraded from win7 64bit] and Elementary OS Freya)

It's nothing to do with hardware issues

Earphones worked fine on my Elementary OS so my audio jack is definitely not broken or anything like that. Earphones work on my phone as well so i'm quite positive it's to do with windows 10 only.

No sound coming out of earphones

There's no sound coming out of the earphones, and I'm sure it's nothing to do with them because they work fine when I plug them into my phone. Also, I've tried another pair of earphones which resulted the same. However, the sound works perfectly without the earphones plugged into my laptop, the speakers are fine.

unsure if it's to do with drivers

I've tried uninstalling the Realtek HD audio drivers, reinstalling and nothing works.

However, I have Windows 10 but could only find drivers for Windows 7/8

I've googled a bit and most would suggest something like checking the playback devices but the only one on my list is 'Speakers'.

Realtek detected my earphones

When I plug in my earphones, Realtek detected them and even popped up the notification saying 'you just plugged a device into the audio jack'

as shown in the picture, when i toggle my mouse onto the black circle, it clearly detected something was plugged in, but somehow audio just won't play through my earphones.

 

Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

 

Speakers not detected, no sound

I recently noticed that I cannot use speakers as they are not detected in Sound or Realtek HD Audio Manager when I plug them into any of the back panel outputs. My headphones work fine, both front panel and back. Speakers work when plugged into the headphones out socket.
I noticed this because I did not have my speakers plugged in for 9 months so I am not sure when they stopped working, they were fine before I moved house and put them in storage.
I have tried to un-install and re-install the drivers but this has not worked, in fact it made Realtek disappear from control panel until I found a way to get it back.
I also have a Asus Xonar DGX sound card which seems to have stopped working entirely from all ports.
Does anyone know of any way to remedy this or is it time for a new motherboard, or maybe bluetooth speakers?
The panel is showing speakers but the sound goes to my headphones, speakers are not detected although they are plugged in.
Realtek says it is working properly.
