Windows 10: Windows is going dark/hazed out as if a game is running

I've been having a strange issue since upgrading to windows 11 where it seems to think there is a game running in the background when none are. The screen is dark/hazed over similar to what it often does if you alt tab out of a game, even after the game is closed and I'm just in chrome or other programs. Sometimes chrome will be fully bright and the haze will only be on the taskbar and windows notifications, and sometimes it'll flicker on and off while in the same window without moving/doing anything. I've tried looking in task manager to confirm that nothing is running, closing down apps t

When you say “Steam games are in a red haze when open” are you referring to Red Haze game?

Once you are on the desktop, install any pending updates on the pc to check if that helps. Updates are additions to software that can help prevent or fix problems, improve how your computer works, or enhance your computing experience.

I suggest you to try uninstalling and re-installing the games in compatibility mode
and check if that helps. Try the below mentioned steps and check if it helps:

1. Go to the location where you had saved your downloaded setup files
and right click, then select Properties.

2. Select Compatibility Tab.

3. Place a check mark next to Run this program in Compatibility mode
and select the operating system accordingly from the drop down list.

4. Let it install and then check the functionality.

Dark Souls PTD Zero Day Protection not unlocking the files

Hi,

To help you with your concern about unlocking the Dark Souls PTD Zero Day Protection, kindly follow the steps below:

• First uninstall and reinstall the game. You may refer to this
  link, for the steps.
• After installing, open the Dark Souls folder in Explorer. On Windows 7 64-bit the default installation folder is “C:\Program Files (x86)\NAMCO BANDAI Games\DarkSouls”.
• Go into the Zdp folder and run Zdp.exe.

Games For Windows Live and Dark Souls

I have been trying for almost a month to get my Dark Souls on steam to work, just recently i got games for windows live to fully install and connect, but my Dark Souls still will not run. Any suggestions on what I can do? I am on Windows 10
