Windows 10: Windows is not activated - Error 0xC004F012 / 0xc0020036

Hey all!

So basically, I turned on my PC yesterday as per usual and about half way through using it for the day I noticed a see through "Activate Windows" located on the bottom right, at first I thought maybe it was part of this Wallpaper I recently found online but then noticed it was actually my PC!

I've had Win10 for ages now, so It wasn't a recent activation, I'd say maybe around 2 years or so.

So I went to Settings and came across this.





Then when I clicked Troubleshoot I got this.






I tried doing some research online to see if I could fix it myself but found nothing specifically relevant.

The only thing I can think of that I might have done significantly on my PC is that I recently was changing Modems for my Internet Connection, but then reverted back to my previous one I had for years (because the new one was actually worse somehow), not sure if that will help in anyway.

Error Code 0xc0020036

I was upgraded to Windows 10 from 8.1 a couple of years ago. After the April 2018 Update, my copy is no longer valid and needs to be activated. Kind of odd, considering I didn't pay for Windows 10, as it was a free upgrade. I tried the troubleshooter and
got Error 0xC004F012. I troubleshoot again, it runs for about ten minutes then I get this Error 0xc0020036. I've not changed any hardware.

How do I activate a digital license, that I don't have, with the program saying it can't connect to its servers? Please help.

 

Upgraded to Windows 10 Pro from Windows 7, but its not activated, its shows error code 0xC004F012

So far, nothing has worked. The Activate Windows watermark is still showing, and I cannot activate it through windows because it still gives me this message in Settings:

Windows can't activate right now. Try activating again later. If that doesn't work, contact support. Error Code: 0xC004F012.
