    I am going to start with the oddity so those in the know don't fall asleep at my detail. the LAST thing I did was run a safe boot and running the troubleshooter. It cam back essentially saying it could not repair windows and offered a log file. Here is the oddity for me.. the log file was supposedly written to H:\Window\...Of course, Windows is on C: drive. Does this mean anything? I did a search in the registry for H:\Windows to see if something misdirected windows location. Nothing found.Last minute thing I forgot. Nvidia monitor was showing CPU 100% while Task Manager was sa

    USB Port Oddities


    Ok, let's see it with pictures step-by-step. First right-click on the USB device and select Update driver software:

    Then select Browse my computer for driver software (LAST option) :

    The select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer (LAST option) :

    Then select the standard driver from the list and click next:

    Click next/OK as required to complete installation. Repeat the steps for all Intel USB devices. Finally click on each USB root device and press DEL to delete it, reply YES when asked. After deleting all USB root devices restart the computer.

    I hope this is detailed enough...

  3. Why did the startup window get cleared?

    I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.
