Windows 10: “Windows is still setting up class configuration for this device code 56” network adapter

all of the network adapters on my computer, have a error displayed saying that windows is still sitting at the class configuration for the device code 56. I have tried many things to fix this problem, including but not limited to restarting the computer, restoring to a system Restore point, uninstalling, VPN software, updating network, adapter drivers, disabling and reenabling network adapters, Deleting and then re-creating my network adapter, using my iPhone as a network adapter. I tethered my iPhone with a charging cable and turn on the hotspot and a device manager. It just showed up like a

My windows 10 system was working fine, but after windows update, TAP-Windows Provider V9 network not able to reinstall.

TAP network Adapter failed to configure with message "Windows is still setting up the class configuration for this device. (Code 56)"

Same network adapter was working fine on the same system. Also verified same adapter on another windows system also works fine without any issue.

This issue started after windows update. Before update same TAP adapter install-uninstall was working on the same system without any issue.

Also do not wanted to reset network or revert windows update as per solution provided in another forum topics due to other applications working fine on the system.

Conflicts with a third-party VPN software is one of the possible reasons why you are having a "Windows is still setting up the class configuration for this device (Code 56)" on each of the network adapter in the Device Manager. May we know if you have a third-party
VPN software installed? If yes, kindly try to uninstall the software, and restart the computer, and check if you will still encounter the same issue.

WIFI Adapter: Qualcomm Atheros AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter

Hi,

I was using my laptop and then I restarted it,

When it booted back into Windows, my WIFI was broken. WIFI was disabled when clicking the tray icon.

I tried enabling it, but it didn't do anything. I tried restarting again, and it was still broken.

I opened the device manager, disabled the WIFI adapter and then enabled it again. My WIFI was still disabled and enabling it doesn't make anything. I tried uninstalling the WIFI adapter, then scanning for hardware changes.

And then boom! The device appeared but its status is "Windows is still setting up the class configuration for this device. (Code 56)".

I tried using the command "netsh winsock reset", tried using the Network reset feature in settings (but instead of fixing, it broke my LAN adapter, too.), and tried uninstalling the WIFI adapter several times.

I hope someone can help!
