Windows 10: Windows Japanese Language Keyboard Doesn't Allow me To Type

Like the title says, this problem has been happening for a little while, but I currently switch between the English WIndows keyboard and the Japanese keyboard I downloaded from the windows libraries. Recently whenever I am typing within the Japanese keyboard, as I am typing a word from the romaji form to the converted Japanese form chip to the keyboard will allow me to write the first character chi/, but as I go to write the rest of the word, it completely deletes the word I am trying to write. Additionally, the keyboard won't allow me to write any other word until I do something to reset it. This has gotten recently frustrating as of late, and although I realize this would be pretty hard to understand if you don't use the Japanese keyboard, I'm hoping someone can guide me to a solution.

Let us follow these steps and check if that makes any difference:

Step A: Remove the Language Pack.

1. Click on the Start button, go to Settings > Time & Language > Region &
   Language.
   
2. Click on Japanese Language and the click on Remove.
   

Step B: Re-add the Language pack.

1. Click on the Start button, go to Settings > Time & Language > Region &
   language.
   
2. Click on Add a Language >Select the Language (Japanese).
   
3. Once added, click on Options button, and select Add Keyboards to select Japanese keyboard.

Touch Keyboard and Wireless Keyboard typing different characters for Japanese Input Keyboard?

We understand the inconvenience caused and we will try our best to resolve the issue.

This issue may occur when you are not choosing the correct keyboard layout.

To assist you better, I like to know; are you able to view the Japanese language pack, in your system?

To check this, follow the below path.

Type language in the search area in the task bar and select
Language > check for the Japanese language pack.

If the Japanese language pack is listed among the language pack list then you need to select the Japanese language keyboard layout.



To select the Japanese language keyboard layout, press
Windows key + space key on your keyboard and Select the
Japanese language keyboard.

Typing using a Japanese keyboard - windows 10

I have an English version of Windows 10 installed but have a Japanese keyboard. Whatever I do with the language settings it appears that I am unable to type using the keyboard in Japanese mode - suggesting words when you press the spacebar (not the tab
key), switching between single and double byte using the extra key to do so, etc. Using IME I can type using the Tab key to suggest changes but it's totally different from the way a standard keyboard works in Japan.

Is there anything I can do or do I need to install a Japanese version of Windows?

Everything I can find when searching tells me about IME but nothing about getting a Japanese keyboard working.
