Windows Keep Rebooting After 30+ Minutes of Streaming via Steam Link

Whenever I stream my laptop to TV it's TCL A8 4K Smart TV, I consistently get BSOD after around 30 minutes of play. No issue within the first half hour, streaming is pretty stable and the laptop doesn't work really hard I only played Pyre, which is not a demanding game. But pass around 30 minutes mark and I will always get BSOD sometimes I can play for an hour before BSOD happens. This is the error I got from the log is as follows:The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000d1 0x0000000000000000, 0

Steam Link with Windows 10 (Anniversary Update)

    Hey, Windows community!

I recently purchased a Steam Link (Console designed to stream games from a computer), and it's been giving me issues. I brought the issues to the Steam community to see if they could offer me a solution. Through my discussions with members there, however,
I've decided that the issue is more likely with Windows Firewall, Defender, or some other Windows related thing.

I'll share my original post from Steam's forums, here:

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've recently purchased a Steam Link, and today I decided to get it out and hook it up. However, I've run in to what seems to be a problem on my computer's side (not the Link).

The Link turned on, updated, and set itself up just fine. Upon reaching the "add computer" screen (either during setup or later, using the "add computer" button), my computer does not appear in the selections.

    ------------------------------------------

    Here's my situation:

    Steam Link:

    Running latest OS

Wired directly into my router, which is functioning correctly and I've tested

Also connected wirelessly to my router

    Steam controller attached

    HDMI output to TV

    Computer:

Acer Aspire V5 (Laptop), AMD A8 with Radeon HD Dedicated Graphics, 12gb RAM

Running x64 installation of Windows 10 (Anniversary Update)

Wired directly into my router through wall to gigabit switch in my basement

Also connected wirelessly to my router

Running Steam (Attempted in both Big Picture and normal)

EDIT: Streaming enabled (It always was)

    -------------------------------------------

Here's what I've tried, so far:

Turning off Windows firewall (Which was promptly turned back on by my laptop, and I have not been able to find a workaround for this).

Adding new inbound and outbound connection rules for the required ports (Which were also promptly deleted by Windows).

    Disabling the Windows Firewall service.

    Disabling my antivirus software.

    Uninstalling my antivirus software.

Repeating above firewall steps, with antivirus removed.

    Installing non-beta version of Steam.

    Completely reinstalling Steam.

    Exiting and relaunching Steam.

All of these have resulted in the same outcome; My computer does not appear in the listed computers on my network running Steam (on the Link).

Thanks for you help and time, if you have a potential solution.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The discussion that ensued in response to my post included some of the following:

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Me:

When I create a new, custom traffic rule in my firewall, something (I assume Windows) promptly removes that custom setting from my list of traffic rules. It is simply gone. I cannot find it in searches, in the listed firewall traffic settings, or anywhere
    else.

That is the same as one of my original troubleshooting issues: When I attempt to disable Windows firewall via the settings in Windows, it seems to successfully turn off, and then it turns itself back on after a short while.

This all leads me to believe that there is a third party program (whether it be Windows or something else) affecting my laptop connection settings.

That is my issue, currently. Windows seems to not allow me to make my own changes to the firewall settings. So, if you have something to offer to the discussion, please feel free to do so. I don't expect that anyone should need knowledge of how the Steam
Link works in order to offer troubleshooting advice for my Windows laptop connection issues.

Steam Link with Windows 10 (Anniversary Update)

    Hey Virfranz,

I've restored the default firewall settings and rebooted, then checked the connection to my Steam Link. The issue persisted.

I then attempted to disable the firewall in the Windows Firewall window, and it was promptly turned back on (not by me).

Thank you for your suggestion, though. The issue remains unresolved.
