Windows 10: Windows keeps crashing

Hey everyone,

I'm having some trouble with my desktop computer. So some time ago I started experiencing problems with windows 10. My computer completely froze and windows gave an error that said:

"Microsoft windows

The application is not responding. The program may respond again if you wait.

Do you want to end this process?"

After which the screen turned black and I could not do anything. I forced restarted my PC and reinstalled windows. This worked for some time but eventually the problem started again and this time the computer error said "disk reading error". So I guess the SSD was dying. So yesterday I bought a new SSD. Reinstalled windows and everything was fine until this morning. It happened again?

I ran SMART disk assessment, but I'm not sure how to upload the screenshots that I took. However, it said SSD health good(100%) and for the HDD just good without any percentage.

What could be the cause of this problem? Is it even worth fixing or should I just spend 800 euro's on a new motherboard, CPU, ram and such? I would like to repair it before completely upgrading (Student budget).

My specs are:

• ASRock B75M-GL R2.0
• Intel core i5 2500
• Toshiba 500GB HDD
• Kingston 240 GB SSD (Brand new)
• AMD Radeon R9 290
• 8 GB ram
• 520 Watt PSU

EDIT: When I tried turning it on this evening it shows a blue screen and says "unmountable boot volume".

I suggest you run rthdribl > http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archives/rthdribl_1_2.zip
Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

• What exactly are you accessing/doing when the computer crashes?
• Were you still able to login to the computer after it happens?

all games crash!

ive watch my temps and both the cpu and gpu are within normal ranges. when it freezes it simply freezes the image and stops the sound. i must reboot to get back to windows.
