    Windows keeps reverting all folders back to read-only


    All my folders on all my drives are set to read-only, which means I cannot copy files. If I remove the read-only attribute it gets immediately turned on again.

    I have tried:

    1. Taking ownership
    2. Disabling Controlled Access (it was disabled already but I enabled/disabled to be sure)
    3. Changing the attribute of the folder via cmd prompt
    4. My account is the only account on the computer (and it has admin rights)
    5. There is no third-party anti-virus
    6. I did however install MBAM and run it (sad to see MBAM follows the path so many other antivirus has gone by becoming so bloated). BTW, it found nothing.

    What else could be causing this?

    Folder keeps reverting to read-only

    Every time I un-check the "read-only" attribute on a folder it automatically reverts the changes I've made.

    I tried taking full control of the folder as the administrator and as users and I've also tried using "attrib -r +s drive:\\" in run but it doesnt seem to work.

    How can I change the file to read only and keep it from changing back?
    (I'm on windows 10 Home)

    Windows 10 Folders Keep Reverting to Read-Only

    Just had a Windows update and now all my folders have changed to read-only

    I go to change from read-only back to normal but it only reverts after applying.

    I've tried the tips shown here : How to Fix Folder Keeps Reverting to Read Only on Windows 10 - Appuals.com.

    But nothing works and this is quite aggravating as I have a homework assignment due in a few days and I'm wrestling with Windows

    Windows keeps reverting all folders back to read-only

    Drive and folders with Music on it keep reverting to Read Only

    I have an internal drive with Serato programs and music library on it. It keeps reverting back all the folders to read only. attribute change through command prompt, admin does not difference either.
