Windows 10: Windows keeps trying to access old printer and keeps windows installer from working

I have uninstalled HP C4700 every way imaginable but I still get "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable." I the wants me to select a source for installation package C4700.msi. Since I have no source, it causes my windows installer to cancel. This in turns makes it impossible to install other programs. Also, When my Windows 10 tries to update, it gets to about 82% and quits, then I have to reboot and the update uninstalls. I have unbelievably slow internet making every download etc. a major process. On weekends it runs around .45-1 mb and in the middle of the night it gets up to 2.8 mb. HELP!!!! If I can just get the install part working, I would be grateful.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

Windows 10 Keeps Trying to Install Drivers for Non-existent Printer

Each day Windows 10 repeatedly tries to install a driver (or driver package) for an old printer we no longer have connected. It has not been connected for many months. The old printer was a Canon MP600 multi-function inkjet.

The old printer is not listed in Devices and Printers, and it's not listed in Device Manager.

The attempts to install a driver for this non-existent printer occur in the background. They are listed in Event Viewer. Attempt to install is repeated frequently.

Our current printer is working fine, and it's the only actual physical one listed in Devices and printers. The current print is a Brother multi-function inkjet.

The old printer was in use back when this PC was running Windows 8.1. It was variously connected to our router via USB or to a second PC via USB which had file & printer sharing enabled. The old printer is no longer connected to anything.

The PC was upgraded to Windows 10 using the free upgrade process. Current version is 1702 (Creator's Update I think).

I can upload a screenshot of Event Viewer showing the repeated event if needed.

How can I stop/prevent these unwanted, unnecessary attempts to install printer drivers, please?

I realize that it must be difficult for you when things are not working as it should. Sorry to know that you are facing this issue. I will try to help you with this issue.

Please try the printer diagnostic utility as this resolves many common printing issues including the printer being offline.

Suggest you to run the hardware troubleshooter and check if that helps. Once this is done, restart the computer to check the status.

  Press “Windows key + X” to click on “Control Panel”.

  Click on “Troubleshooting” and click on “View all”.
  

Click on “Hardware and Devices” to run the troubleshooter. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if this helps.

Also suggest you to install any pending Windows updates on the pc to check if that helps.
Updates are additions to software that can help prevent or fix problems, improve how your computer works, or enhance your computing experience.

Follow these steps to check if that helps:

•Press Windows + R keys, type “services.msc” in run window and press Enter.

•In services, search and stop the "Print Spooler" service.

•In Windows explorer, navigate to the following folder location and open "PRINTERS" folder.

“C:\Windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS”.

•Click "Continue" or "Yes", if message prompts.

•Delete all files in "PRINTERS" folder and then close Windows explorer.

Note: Please do not delete "PRINTERS" folder. Only delete its contents.

•Open services, and start "Print Spooler" service. Once this is done restart the pc to check if that helps.
