Windows 10: Windows key + "d" key shortcut replace desktop image with black screen

When I use the Windows key + "d" key shortcut, I am returned to the desktop as expected but the background image is replaced with a
black background. The desktop icons are still present and seem to be unaffected by this. Resetting the background desktop image in the personalization
settings works until the next time I use this shortcut. I downloaded from AMD's website the display driver and reinstalled it and also
let the OS install Microsoft's own display driver for this PC. No change with either driver. I recently installed some Stardock
software Fences and Start10 on this PC as well on two laptops. I do not have this problem on either laptop which leads me to think
that this software is not the problem. My PC system details are below. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

OS: Windows 10 64-bit Version: 10.0.18363 Build 18363
PC: Hewlett-Packard Pavilion Elite HPE-480t; 8GB RAM; AMD Radeon HD 5570 display driver

To get a shortcut key for the calculator, go to your desktop and then follow these steps for Windows 10

1. Open the start menu

2. Navigate to calculator in the apps list on the left hand side of the start menu

3. Click and drag the calculator app to your desktop

4. Right-click on calculator and open properties

5. In properties there should be an option to add a shortcut key

 

Windows 10 shortcut key not working - Please help

Hey guys,

I'm trying to create a shortcut key for a program/script that turns off my monitor. I've confirmed that the small program is working by double clicking on it. The problem I'm having is that when I go to create a shortcut key for it. First I create a shortcut to the program, then I set a shortcut key, say "ctrl-shift-s". After applying the changes, clicking Ok, I try to use the shortcut by pressing the ctrl-shift-s key combination. When I do this, nothing happens. I've confirmed that shortcut keys works with other apps like the Command Prompt. Does anyone have any insight to this?

Sounds like the old... windows black screen of death.
