Windows 10: windows key not working as long as i play a steam game

so almost about a year i've been playing this game called "geometry dash" that i bought from steam and nothing was really wrong with the windows key. until recently the windows key stopped working whenever i boot up geometry dash. my computer has a calculator key that opens the calculator app and that's the only alternative to the windows key for me. alt+tab and alt+f4 does nothing too. while geometry dash is running in the background, windows key still doesn't work. but when i close geometry dash with the in-game "exit" button the windows key starts to work as normal again. tried disabling "g

Windows 10 Steam game crashes

• Does the issue occur only with Steam games or all games?
• Are you able to view videos?
• What is the make and model of your computer?

I suggest you to update the Graphic Card driver by following the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
• Expand Display Adapters.
• Right click on the driver and select Update Driver Software.
• Follow the on-screen prompts to update the driver.

Steam games do not work after latest update

Issues in launching Steam games after the Windows 10, version 1703 update may occur if Game Mode is disabled or the game components are corrupted.

To resolve your concern, we recommend that you manually enable Game Mode by following the steps below:

• Press the Windows key + G on your keyboard.
• Select Settings in the Game bar.
• In the General tab, select the check box for
  Game Mode.

Steam games recent list does not update

The recently used program list for the Steam computer game client never updates. It says recent but it misses actual recent games that I've played and lists games that I haven't touched for months or years. How can I investigate the reason for this list not updating? It works just fine for other programs on the Start Menu. I tried searching for information but the word "update" in the search string returns results about Steam and Windows updates and not about the recent list updating.
