Windows 10: Windows Key + other key combination keep getting pressed at random

    Windows Key + other key combination keep getting pressed at random


    I have just built my PC 2 days ago and this started occurring to me, most often while playing games. I have multiple keyboards and all do the same. The keyboards don’t press those random keys when I have them plugged to my laptop. I’m on the latest build of windows 11 with all drivers up to date. My keyboard is plugged to the back of my motherboard and not through my PC Case. I’ve also tried different I/O slots to no avail. This leads my PC to open random things such as the news widget, narrator, magnifier, occasionally on-screen-keyboardon web browser: ms teams, viva engage, outlook, linkedi

    Key combinations confusion

    Maybe it would help if I illustrate my question with an example.

    Currently, if I press Win+Up on my laptop, a MaximizeWindow is executed. However:

    • If I execute Win+/ (to display all key combinations involving the Windows key), Win+Up says "No action" (which isn't correct, because it executes MaximizeWindow).
    • And, if I go into PowerToys / Keyboard Manager, Keyboard Manager is enabled but there are no key combinations listed under either Remap A Key or Remap a shortcut.
    So, how was Win+Up remapped? And where should I remap it, if I want it to do something else? Any why isn't it showing up when I press Win+/?

    @dhievm go ahead and list the model number that gives exact specs/info.


    Does it stop right at the Toshiba logo and sit there? Will it sit forever til you press a key, or will it eventually work after so long?

    Key combinations not working

    Yes it is supposed to work, but the combination of keys I listed are completely unresponsive. When I physically click the 'View' tab, then try to use the Alt+P combination, I get a windows noise and nothing happens.

    So while I have the View menu already open, I get a sound. But in ALL other circumstances across all applications or none at all, those combinations simply don't recognise as being pressed.

    If I could upload a video to show you, I would.
