Windows 10: Windows Key + Spacebar not working

My language setting is English (UK). I use a US keyboard and can usually change the keyboard setting using the Widows Key plus spacebar.

I normally use the PC with a standard account, but have a different Admin account to manage the PC.

PC has just installed 2019-04 cumulative update.

Since the update the above keyboard combination does not work.


Settings / Regions & Language confirms Country and Display Language are set to English (UK).

Advanced Keyboard Settings is giving me the message "Some settings are hidden or managed by your organization."

Rather odd as it is my own PC at home and has never been part of any organization.

Checked my Admin accounts on the PC (both local an Microsoft) and both are just the same.


Any ideas?

Follow these steps:

• Type Troubleshooting.
• Click on Troubleshooting.
• Click on view all option on the upper left corner.
• Select the Hardware and Device options from the list.
• Click Next to run the Hardware and Device Troubleshooter.

1. Yes for scrolling it works fine

2. Not that i am aware of

3. Yes all that use arrow keys and even WASD keys so not just limited to arrows

4. Yes and they are set to the right keys!

I'm Currently trying the troubleshooting now

 

spacebar not working after updates

I have the same problem after the Windows 10 update yesterday. Here's what I did to troubleshoot (to no avail):

• rebooted
• used canned spray
• pressed "shift" five times to make sure "sticky keys" was not enabled, it wasn't
• enabled the OSK (onscreen keyboard) and the spacebar does work on it, just not on my laptop
• pressed spacebar in several places, held it down,

None of these "fixes" work. Short of getting a wireless keyboard, does anyone have a solution?

This is very frustrating.
