Windows 10: Windows + L shortcut no longer works

On both my work and personal PCs, the Windows Key + L shortcut which used to quickly lock the computer has suddenly stopped working. When pressed, all it does is make a ding sound and the screen does not lock.This is not an isolated issue as it's happened on two separate devices.

Start+L (lock computer) keyboard shortcut no longer working

As the title says, in my Surface Pro 4 (the latest one released in 2018), the start+L keyboard shortcut no longer works. This shortcut still works in my other Surface Pro 3.

This started happening a few weeks ago. I've found (elsewhere online) some users have reported that adding a registry entry in the following folder fixes this:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System


However I am hesitant to modify this because I have no 'system' folder in my 'policies' folder in either of my devices, and the SP3 seems to be doing fine with out it:





I use a Logitech bluetooth keyboard for both devices.

Any ideas?

I have a Logitech K480 keyboard. There's no Windows key:





Even Ctrl+Alt+Del does not work.

I have decided it's a problem with this keyboard because I used a USB keyboard and everything works as expected. I'm off to the Logitech forums to see how to reset this keyboard.

I don't have a 'Winlogon' folder in my 'CurrentVersion' folder:

I will check when I get home, where the SP4 is. Presently I am at work with the SP3 (where the Alt+L hotkey is working properly) and I don't have a 'lock' option in the start menu/shutdown box:





But I do see it when I Ctrl+Alt+Del.

I tried Alt+F4 but it opened a new browser tab in place of this one (forcing me to retype all of this because the forum didn't save it). I will check on the SP4 when I get home.
