Windows 10: Windows Lag

It was a few days back, there i was chilling on my computer and then suddenly the whole windows 10 operating system just went 2fps and i could barly control the cursor because the frames were so low. when i finally manage to control my cursor a bit and press the shut down in start menu, i heard a windows error sound but it wasnt normal it was distorted and skippy because my os was crashing. i couldent shut i down it was stuck on the shutting down screen. i left it for ages and nothing happened still on the shutting down screen. so i held down the power button to force it off. i turned it back

We would like to know more about your lag issue:

• What browser are you using when you experience a lag?
• Does the lag occur in a particular game?

In the meantime, we suggest you run the System Maintenance troubleshooter. Here are the steps:

• Press Windows Key + X.
• Click on Control Panel.
• Select Troubleshooting.
• On the left pane, click on View All.
• Click on System Maintenance to run the troubleshooter.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
