Windows 10: Windows Laptop crashes when used as mobile hotspot. Same Problem from Dwilliams99

"I've been having quite a problem lately when trying to use my laptop. Whenever I try to use it as a wireless hotspot to connect my PS4 through to the internet, I get a BSOD with a DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION error anywhere from a minute to 4 hours in. I can not connect my laptop with an Ethernet Cable to the internet due to it and the router being on opposite ends of the house, and all of my drivers show on Driver Easy as updated with the exception of one audio driver, which is downloading to update now. If anyone has any advice that would help me out, I'd appreciate it."

It happens the exact same to me, my pc freezes then hops to a BSOD... and i dont know what to do i updated everything, and i dont know how to see DMP files so i would appreciate any help too!! Thank you in advance...

Hi Dwilliams99, all your Mini-Dump files indicate your Intel Wireless WiFi Link Adapter device driver as the root cause of your system crashes.

This would make sense as your system crashes when using the Hotspot feature . .

Possibly try to get an older drive driver form the support page for your device on the manufacturers website and see if that resolves the problem.

You may change the password of your mobile hotspot so that the person you don't allowed to use it can't connect to it. To assist you better, we'd like to know if you've tried changing the password. Which build and version of Windows 10 are you using?

In the meantime, we suggest that you follow these steps below on how you can change the password of the Mobile hotspot.:

• Open Settings then select Network & Internet.
• Choose Mobile hotspot.
• Under Mobile hotspot section, you can see the current name of the Wi-Fi hotspot and password. To change mobile hotspot name or password or both, click the
  Edit button.
• Enter a new password for the network. Click Save button. Note that the password must be of at least 8 characters.
