Windows 10: Windows License - Bought Through Store

Back in 2021, I bought a Windows Pro upgrade via the Microsoft store. Just last week, I had to send the laptop in for a repair covered under warranty, Lenovo to be specific. They re-installed Windows and that overwrote Pro with Home wish I would have known thats what they were going to do, could have done it myself versus waiting a week. I have proof of purchase of said upgrade in my order history. I'd assume I would be able to sign into the PC and that would pull the license down from my account. Only concern is I have also bought 2 other upgrades via my account via the Microsoft store for

I followed your steps, but unfortunately that didn't fix my problem.

After the last reboot I run windows update again and it installed KB5031354.

I started the activation troubleshooter and clicked "I changed hardware on this device recently".
But I did not get a prompt to enter my account credentials, it just again showed a similar information to the one in my screenshot above (where the connected Windows edition did not match - Windows 10 Professional).

I suspect that my bought store license somehow did not get properly associated with my Microsoft Account.

But as I bought that through the Windows Store, would that mean that this new Windows 11 Home license is now somehow in Limbo?

(I am now re-running all your steps above again just to be sure; I'll update my reply here if my 2nd attempt helps).

Update: I re-ran your suggested solution but could not fix the issue. I did not get prompted for my Microsoft account credentials again when I ran the activation troubleshooter with "I changed hardware on this device recently". Still the same old Windows 10 Pro device shown in the connected devices list.

Update 2: There is - however - a change now in the devices list in my Microsoft account. My new PC now shows up as a connected device:

Try the methods below and check if it helps.

Method 1:

I suggest you run the Windows Store app troubleshooter and check. Follow the steps:

• 
  Press Windows Key + X.
  
• 
  Click on Control Panel.
  
• 
  Select Troubleshooting.
  
• 
  On the left pane, click on View All.
  
• 
  Click on Windows Store apps to run the troubleshooter.
  

Method 2:

If the issue persist, I suggest you to reset Windows Store cache and check. Follow the steps:

• Press Windows Key+ R.
• Type wsreset.exe and hit
  Enter.

Please reply us on the status of the issue to assist you further.

 

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)
