Discus and support Windows Live Mail: Can't view new mail, "Low memory" warning in Windows 10 Network and Sharing to solve the problem; I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 today but I cannot view new incoming messages on Windows Live Mail.     Windows Live Mail: Can't view new mail, "Low memory" warning


    I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 today but I cannot view new incoming messages on Windows Live Mail. I receive an error message that "Windows Live Mail has encountered a problem while displaying this message. Check your computer for low memory or low disk space and try again. I can view all of my old messages so I don't believe low memory or disk space is the issue. Is there anything I can try?

    Can anybody help ? I am using Windows10 and Windows Live Mail. The problem is Windows Live Mail works fine on my Microsoft Account profile but not on my wife's profile. On her profile she gets a message to say Windows Live Mail could not be started and
    Windows Live Mail may not be installed correctly or your computer is low on memory. My computer is not low on memory. Any suggestions on what may be wrong and how to fix it ?

    Yes, Windows mail (on Vista) is almost identical to Windows Live Mail (which I use here at work on XP), and have multiple accounts set up.

    Windows Live Mail has one of the best out-of-the-box spam detectors I have ever seen in an e-mail client, and of course, it's free.

    The one thing I like about WLM over Windows Mail on Vista, is that WLM does not use popup box verification when you delete the entire junk mailbox (it does, however, on the deleted mailbox). If I hit the delete key for a whole mailbox, I mean it. Honestly, you don't have to ask me if I am sure about what I am doing.

    Live Mail in Windows 10

    You could try this.

    *Warning, you will lose all the emails stored locally unless they are in Windows Live Mail "Storage folders"*

    • Open Windows Live Mail
    • Right click on you account name and Remove account
    • Restart Windows Live Mail
    • Set the account up again and see if it works

    If that still doesn't work, try this:

    *Warning, you will lose all the emails stored locally including those in Windows Live Mail "Storage folders"*

    • Close Windows Live Mail
    • Open File Explorer, Go View > Options > in Folder Options window click View and Select "Show hidden files, folders & drives
    • Navigate to c:\Users\<your user name>\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail
    • Copy the Windows Live Mail folder somewhere else in case you want to revert. Also, if you have mail stored in Windows Live Mail "Storage folders" you can reinstate that folder later
    • Delete the Windows Live Mail folder
    • Start Windows Live Mail and set up your account
