  1. WINDOWS LIVE REPEATEDLY DOWNLOADS ALL GMAIL FOLDERS


    Good afternoon. I use WINDOWS LIVE WITH A gmail address I have plus a yahoo address and an optonline address.

    During the last three days, every time I use WINDOW LIVE IT DOWNLOADS ALL GMAIL ACCOUNTS AND EMAILS FROM THE BEGINNING.

    I have a total of over 20000 emails between all the GMAIL FILES( INBOX, SENT, IMPORTANT ETC..).

    WINDOWS LIVE WORKS FINE WITH THE YAHOO EMAIL ADDRESS AND THE OPTONLINE EMAIL ADRESS downloading again ONLY THE NEW EMAILS.

    THE PROBLEM IS ONLY WITH GMAIL ACCOUNT.


    What is the solution?

  2. Windows Live email folders

    Hi,

    I would suggest you locate the Windows Live Mail Folder and see if your important folders are available.

    Follow the steps below:

    Step 1: Show all hidden Files.

    • Click on File Explorer and then click on the View Tab.
    • Check Show Hidden Files/Folders.
    Step 2: Open the WLM Store folder.

    • Go to the Mentioned path: C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail
    • Now go to the Storage folders location and look for your important folders.
    • If they are available, follow the steps below.
    • Make a copy of Windows Live Mail Folders and store it in a path you can easily access.
    • Now, open Windows Live Mail Account.
    • Click Alt + F key and press Import Messages.
    • Select Windows Live Mail and click Next.
    • Browse the folder and locate the file.
    • Finally press Next.
    • You will find your imported messages in the Imported folder.

  3. Downloads folder is the Documents folder

    Hi Chris,

    Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

    I suggest you to Restore to Default the folders and document settings and see if it helps.

    Step 1:

    Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

    • Go to Download folder.
    • Right click on the Download Folder and go to Properties.
    • In Properties go to Location tab.
    • In location Tab Click on Restore Default.


    Step 2:

    Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

    • Go to Documents folder.
    • Right click on the Document folder and go to Properties.
    • In Properties go to Location tab.
    • In location Tab Click on Restore Default.
    After performing above steps change the settings as you required and check if it helps.

    Windows Live Issue & Thunderbird folders

    Hi Allan,



    Thank you for replying with the status of the issue.



    Try to repair the Windows Live Essentials components by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.



    • Press Windows key + X on the keyboard and select
      Programs and Features
      .
    • Right click on the Windows Live Essentials option from the window and select
      Uninstall/change.
    • Click on Repair all Windows Essentials programs and wait until the programs are repaired.
    • Close the window and check if the issue is resolved.


    If the issue persist, I suggest you to uninstall Windows Live Mail by following the steps below:



    • Press Windows key + X on the keyboard and select
      Programs and Features
      .
    • Right click on the Windows Live Essentials option from the window and select
      Uninstall/change.
    • Click on Remove one or more Windows Essential program and check the
      Mail option.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions, reinstall Windows Live Mail from Windows Live Essentials and check if the issue is resolved.


    As Thunderbird is a third party application, we do not support any happenings related to the application. I suggest you to contact the manufacturer for recovering the lost files and folders
