Windows 10: Windows locking apps out of 20% of my RAM

This started after I installed the Win10 update KB5022282 Windows cumulative update for Win10 Version 22H2, though I have tried updating to Windows 11 and this didn't solve the problem.I monitor my PC's performance using task manager, and after the update I found that memory-intensive apps would close randomly or crash while starting. I noticed that this happened whenever memory usage got to about 80%, and around this value browser pages start throwing out of memory exceptions too. Where previously I could get up to 100% with apps simply slowing down and freezing until some space was freed u

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

Strollin: I understand your suggestion, but that means I'll have to re-install all my sofftware etc. again. This is not an enticing thought at all.

LCDR: I tried the old activation code I used before - it is the same on you posted.

I tried the steps listed at the WinAero site. Last one failed because it said the server could not be located. But I did get the Jan 20, 2016 date back. So that's something.

 

To RAM or not to RAM...

Hey genesis what hardware have you bought, you might be able to save on the ram and step up the rest of the hardware a little...

Or you could go out on the town as suggested... *Big Grin
