  1. Windows Logs - System errors/warnings

Hello Microsoft Community,Recently I've had issues with running games, specifically they randomly minimize to task bar, which is quite annoying. I've had this issue for a while now and only recently has it started to occur more frequently. This issue only occurs in while running games. These games are Rocket League, Apex Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, War Thunder. There may be more that I haven't mentioned because I haven't played those games since before the issue began. In response to this I decided to have a look at event viewer, and I found a ton of errors and warnings under Windows Logs - Sy

    Windows Vista Tech Support

Go to the control panel, go to Administrative Tools, then Event Viewer. UAC will jump in asking for permission to continue, grant it.

Let it load - in the middle of the window you'll get a list of all the logged events... Critical, Error, Warning, Information, Audit Success and Audit Failure.

Don't get worried at how many errors/warnings you've got - every little thing seems to get listed in Vista - i've recorded 60,000 errors in the 3 months i've been on Vista!

Just look around for anything logged around the time you get the crashes... or if your feeling daring, crash it, reboot and look at the latest logs.

  3. OPenGL Error my System

    Hi Ashwin,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

What is the exact error message you are receiving?

I suggest you to provide us the Event Viewer which helps us isolate the issue.

Open Event Viewer in Windows and check the System logs. Check for any errors logged in there against the system crashes. Refer the steps below:

    • Go to the Start Screen.

    • Type in Event Viewer. This will bring up the Event Viewer box.

    • Click to open the event viewer.

    • In the left pane, expand out WindowsLogs.

    • Click on Application log. Highlight the first event in the log and use your arrow keys to scroll down.
Most of your event will be Information. You may see Yellow Warnings or Red Errors. If you see a red error, you can double click on it to bring it up and copy the contents to a document.

Please do let us know if you need further assistance, we’ll be glad to assist you.

    Error Log Reading

    Hi ankurshaswat.

Sorry I can't tell from logs but all data appears to be very old. Like September. Here is a list of quick fixes that can help from an MS article.
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/win...dy_UpgradeTips
Quick fixes The following steps can resolve many Windows upgrade problems.

    • Remove nonessential external hardware, such as docks and USB devices.
    • Check all hard drives for errors and attempt repairs. To automatically repair hard drives, open an elevated command prompt, switch to the drive you wish to repair, and type the following command. You will be required to reboot the computer if the hard drive being repaired is also the system drive.
      • chkdsk /F
    • Attempt to restore and repair system files by typing the following commands at an elevated command prompt. It may take several minutes for the command operations to be completed. For more information, see Repair a Windows Image.
      • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
      • sfc /scannow
    • Update Windows so that all available recommended updates are installed, and ensure the computer is rebooted if this is necessary to complete installation of an update.
    • Uninstall non-Microsoft antivirus software.
      • Use Windows Defender for protection during the upgrade.
      • Verify compatibility information and re-install antivirus applications after the upgrade.
    • Uninstall all nonessential software.
    • Update firmware and drivers.
    • Ensure that "Download and install updates (recommended)" is accepted at the start of the upgrade process.
    • Verify at least 16 GB of free space is available to upgrade a 32-bit OS, or 20 GB for a 64-bit OS.

Once you done all of the above could I suggest you follow this tutorial to install the upgrade. While non destructive I would recommend backing up all data off device.

Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

    Then repost the logs please.
