Windows 10: Windows - lost PIN. No way past sign in screen.

I have a windows 10 laptop that I've not signed into for a while. I've forgotten my PIN. I know my windows password. I tried to guess the PIN several times. Now each time I input an incorrect PIN the only option is to restart the machine and then try and then input the PIN . Is there a way I can get access via my windows account/password......or any other way?Otherwise I'm stuck in an endless loop!PS I've tried leaving it for a few days in case the option to input the password reappeared. It was there for the first few attempts then disappeared. If I'd have known it was going to disappear I'd

Remove sign in pin

I suggest you to follow the below steps to remove the sign in pin/password options.

• In the search box type sign-in-option.
• Click on the sign-in-option.
• Then you can find password/pin/picture password.
• There you can remove the option and check.

• Which build and version of Windows 10 is installed on your computer?
• Which build and version of Windows 10 are you using before reinstalling Windows?
• Have you tried resetting your PIN?
• Did you get any error messages after you verified the PIN you entered?

Lost the ability to log into Windows 10 with PIN

Some system components may be missing or corrupted, causing the problem you are facing to occur. Before we can fully address this, please answer some things so we can understand this better:

• Did this start after updates were installed on the computer?
• Does the same situation happen when you add a pin as your sign-in option in Windows Settings?

Since you have tried adding the option in Control Panel, let's see if there will be a difference when we do it in Windows Settings. Follow these steps:

• Click on Start.
• Open Settings.
• Choose Accounts.
• Go to Sign-in options.
• Under PIN, click on Add.
