    HiI'm maintaining a computer for my 90 year old mum, Windows 10 Home, all updates installed. I added her ISP email into the Mail app using "advanced settings" for IMAP/SMTP. with SSL, details provided by the ISP at standaard instellingen Scarlet email. This all worked fine until about 1 month ago. Since then, she has problems sending email. Symptoms:- she gets an "email" in the Inbox saying translated "As this email could not be sent, it has been saved in Concepts..."- when pressing on sync explicitly, I've seen error codes 0x80048802 and 0x80048c26These things do work however:- receiving

    Windows 10 Mail app can't send emails


    Take a look at this page and double check all of your settings.

    Try using a secure connection

    If your eMail client has Requires authentication, select it
    Most servers use Clear text authentication - do not change that unless your provider gave you instructions to set it up.

    Is it possible to create an account to *just* send email with Windows 10 mail?

    I'm trying to use Windows 10 mail to send email through my own personal SMTP server. I don't use pop3 or imap, I just deliver my mail to a local maildir.

    However, the Mail client won't let me do anything without "signing in" which is stupid. I tried using "example.com" as the account, but it wouldn't actually send my emails at all, and I couldn't find a setting to "send email now".

    I was able to scroll down to "Advanced Setup" and use "Internet email account". If I use these settings:

    Do I have to create a fake POP/IMAP server to get this app to believe me that I don't actually want to receive email here? Or is there some kind of hidden setting I can use?

    When I configured these settings and tried to send a message, nothing happened. It stuck the files in my outbox and that was it. No error message no nothing. As far as I can tell, it was waiting to connect to the IMAP/POP server before it would try to send my email.

    Windows Live Mail 2012 refuses to send emails, claims they're spam

    My wife uses Windows Live Mail 2012 and says it refuses to send emails, claiming they're spam. This is even replying to someone who is in her contacts list. I have run several different virus checks and nothing comes up. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. TIA
