Windows 10: Windows Mail - iCloud Sync Settings Email turns itself off

Hello,I am trying to sync my iCloud email account with Windows Mail. -I have logged in and created an app specific password with my Apple Account.-I have successfully synced my Calendar with Windows Calendar-In Windows Mail i go to Accounts->iCloud->Change Mailbox Sync Settings->Sync Settings turn Email from Off to OnWhenever I Save these settings, i can immediately go back into the sync settings and Email will be set to "Off"As of 1.3.2021 I have-Ran all Windows Updates-Deleted and re-established the iCloud Account-"Reset" Calendar and Mail in System Settings.Any suggestions out ther

Can't sync iCloud mail

I'm trying to set the Mail app to sync my iCloud email but it won't. I am using an app-specific password. My iCloud account's calendar and contacts have been successfully connected and synced but only the mail part won't. Whenever I turn on the switch and click save and open back the settings, I find that it's turned off.

What gives?

• Have you tried using other accounts aside from iCloud? If yes, what was the result?

How do I setup iCloud mail to work with Windows Mail?

Solution fixed the authentication error message but apple mail still does not sync. There is no error message but email sync is turned off and will not stay on.

Attempts to configure it include:

1. go into the Microsoft mail client account section
   
2. click configure the iCloud email account
3. click on change mailbox sync settings and the Email sync option is turned off
4. when I turn it back on, click DONE, and click SAVE it turns off again.
   

I found the detailed settings in another answer and have verified that they match suggested settings. Here is a pic of what they are set to.





Any suggestions to fix it so Apple mail will work in Microsoft Mail?
