Windows Mail--Mail Gets Stuck in Outbox When Change Networks Without Reboot

I recently got a new laptop and the stock mail program Windows Mail has an odd issue. If I booted the computer up while using internet from one network, and then switch to another internet network, it becomes impossible to send mail through my work account without restarting the computer. Trying to send mail just leaves the mail in "Outbox." Sometimes after a reboot the outbox clears out, i.e., the mail gets sent but is now long after I actually tried to send it. Other times the item sits there forever. I cannot tell it to send, or delete it. I have to un-sync the entire account, then

  3. Windows Mail: Mail to be Sent is stuck in Outbox--cannot send. Not Vista

    Hi,

This issue might occur due to incorrect email settings. We can try to isolate the issue by simply removing the account and adding it back. Other users who were having the same issue found out that removing the email that got stuck in the Outbox resolves
    the issue. Here's how:

    • Disable your network connection.
    • Open the Mail app and go to the Outbox.
    • Click the delete icon in the top right for each stuck mail item.
    • Enable your connection again.

Let us know if you need further assistance.
